The Story Behind the Song
It was during Lent, when we practice suffering to understand what Jesus went through, as we prepare to remember his crucifixion for us, on the somber occasion of “Good” Friday. That’s when it really hit me…Why are all of the songs about Jesus’s death and suffering on the cross like dirges in minor keys??? Doesn’t anybody remember that He ROSE on Easter Sunday & now we have been set free? So, I had to write a song CELEBRATING just how AWESOME the gift of Jesus’s sacrifice was for us…and we should REJOICE …because we are saved by the blood!
“Saved By the Blood” – Randall Everitt
In the blood of Jesus, we are saved.
In the blood of Jesus, we have been redeemed.
In the blood of Jesus, we have faith.
(Cause we’re) saved by the blood.
He’s for us, a covenant, renewed for all time.
Poured out for us, for forgiveness,
until we drink with Him His wine (in His Kingdom)
In the blood of Jesus, we are saved.
In the blood of Jesus, we have been redeemed.
In the blood of Jesus, we have faith.
(Cause we’re) saved by the blood.
We have been justified, freely by His grace.
God sent Him as a sacrifice,
Of atonement through faith (in His blood)
In the blood of Jesus, we are saved.
In the blood of Jesus, we have been redeemed.
In the blood of Jesus, we have faith.
(Cause we’re) saved by the blood.
If we walk in the light, proud to testify
In the blood of Jesus, from all sin,
we will be purified (Forevermore)
In the blood of Jesus, we are saved.
In the blood of Jesus, we have been redeemed.
In the blood of Jesus, we have faith.
(Cause we’re) saved by the blood,
saved by the blood,
saved by the blood!
